I just got done reading the funniest post on one of the blogs I follow. It made me realize why I follow that particular blog. I remember those days in my life dealing with those personalities. Makes me laugh to remember. I have had quite a few confrontations in my work life myself. I would taunt those who tried to get on my nerves by turning the tables on them. I was pretty good at it. One thing I am is a hard worker and that would threaten some people. Usually the lackers and the slackers. I never saw that as my problem though and I never let it get in my way.

Winding down to the end of the year...

It's the last quarter of the year as we spiral along toward's the Big Holiday Season. It is my favorite time of year, but also one I kind of dread. There is already so much pressure and stress in my life - just with work, family and home and trying to find an even balance that the things I often find enjoyable - also become stressful because of the work they require and the very limited time I have available to give to extra curricular activity.

I'm learning to balance time and manage better. I better get real good at it and fast.

Really cute Halloween Products

When I saw these online I just knew I had to put them up. Enjoy!

And this is adorable!!

Half way through the month already?

October has taken me by storm. There has been such a flurry of activity that I've barely had a single moment to breath. I'll get caught up - I'm determined to. So much I caa more manage if I just try a more methodical approach. In the meantime I've yet to think about Halloween, rather unusual since this is one of the things I find so fun about October. I'm also going to plug a few affiliates here and see if I can make a few extra pennies from all that extra traffic I've gained. Seems like that Fivver job I paid for is starting to pay off. Time will tell.

Poor hubby...

He is back from his trip and feeling so miserable. Sick is not fun - particularly when it affects your ability to function. I love you Hunny Bunny feel better. It really sucks to see someone you love so much suffering. It's such a helpless feeling. I'll nurse him back to health though and be supportive - that's all I can do and of course pray that he feels better tomorrow. I've also made a decision that at 5pm I pull the plug on work each day. For the last week I have been stressed working til past 8pm every night. But I have a family and they have needs so the real stress and shame of it all would be if I neglected my responsibilities to them. I don't really care what people say or think - that is their problem not mine. I know I have always given 100% and gotten results. I also know that I always rise to the occasion and no matter what I will get things done. I know my work ethic. No one is going to shake my confidence and I refuse to feel guilty about shutting down at the end of a long day instead of prolonging it.

Feel better, Do Better

My life is great and overall there are no major complaints - just area's that I know can use improvement. I am in good health and I prefer to keep it that way so I have decided to start making use of the gym. Starting last week, I went and did a 30 minute workout consisting of 10 minutes of cardio and 20 of strength building and muscle toning. There are some area's in particular that could use some help, like certain arm flab I'd like to see disappear.

My starting weight was a whopping 194lbs. I'm not what I would call over-weight but now that I am over 35 Y/O I think I need to keep this under control so I don't gain weight. I'd be happier if I could get to 175 or lower. In an effort to keep myself accountable - I'll post the weekly results here and maybe a few photo's of the progress from time to time.

Learning curve, again

It has been a frustrating couple of weeks. The kind of endless days that even when they are over, leave your mind reeling. The kind of days where you are left scratching your head wondering what the hell just happened. I've got so much irking me lately, it is difficult to think straight. The one thing I am good at, is finding a way to navigate through the muck. I do. It's exhausting, but there is no such thing as giving up when I've bore down on a project or task.

It does leave me drained though. I am exhausted day after day. I need balance. I also need a housekeeper and a chef but that is not in the foreseeable budget. Maybe if I could just clone myself. I refuse to be negative though. I will continue be all things to all people ( at least until I'm dead )

Family Trip to Maine Part 2....

Sunday morning we were up by 9 ready to eat breakfast and Make our way to York Beach. It was a perfect beach day - and we almost didn't find a place to park. We ended up getting the last possible spot in one of those $10.00 a day lot's. The guy actually made a space for us and it was a true win-win. He got his extra ten bucks and we got secure parking. The beach was beautiful - but the water was freezing - typical New England.

It was also super crowded. We all had fun though - playing and frolicking in the water. It was a fun way to end the weekend.

Family Maine Trip - Part 1

I was watching TV one evening when a commercial came on for York's Wild Kingdom. I knew I had not been there since I was a child. Hubby and I have recently decided to add more fun to our lives. We had a quick chat and decided to go to Maine for the weekend.

On Saturday morning - we loaded everyone into the car and made our way to York. It was a surprisin4ly short ride - one hour and 30 minutes. Being that it was a short trip - we could easily have come home if we did not find one. The Zoo was amazing. There is such a wide variety of animals and creatures to see - even a butterfly sanctuary. We were really impressed and it made for an enjoyable time. Even though the kids are older - they were in awe - as we all were with the variety of wildlife to explore. It was a cool experience.

When they were little - we took them to the zoo here in Boston. No comparison. I think we all felt a sense of adventure being out of the city and seeing things we don't often encounter in city living.

Around 4pm - we had pretty much seen all there was to see so we decided to call it a day and go look for a place to stay. The temperture was in the low 90's that day so we headed off to look for a place to stay.

It worked out just right. We found a Microtel only a couple of miles down road and lady luck was on our side - they had exactly 2 rooms left and we snapped them up. Perfect location right off of the main road and the place had an indoor pool. After getting our room keys we decided to spend a few hours relaxing in pool – cooling off from being in the hot sun all day.

Directly in front of the Hotel was China Bistro where we decided to have a nice dinner and end the day right. We planned to hit York beach the next day for some more fun in the sun before heading home relaxed and refreshed.

China Bistro exceeded our expectations in every way. I had my first ever Apple Martini. I'm not a big drinker but this was a vacation and since we could walk back to the Hotel – I decided to indulge. The food was exceptional – served piping hot and fresh. For someone who is used to Chinese Take-Out this was a world apart. The freshest, most delicious food we have ever tasted. No MSG. Perfectly seasoned
and cooked to perfection. The flavor of the Crab Rangoon – perfectly crisped and piping hot –
was amazing.

After dinner Hubby and I took our usual after – dinner walk around the area. After such a fun-filled day we all hit the sheets pretty early – I would say by 10PM we all sacked out.
